Forums / mailing lists / groups
What are these forums / mailing lists?
They are places where developers ask and/or answer questions,
helping each other for free. To participate, first you need to subscribe to a
forum (instructions below) so you start receiving messages and you can
also post messages (questions and/or answers). In general, all this is
done by email, but you can do it all from the web (if you subscribe
from the web).
When you send an email (or post a message from the web site) to the
forum, the message is (almost) instantly available at the web site and is
also automatically sent to all the members of the forum who chose to
receive messages by email (it's the default configuration, but can be
changed), so all members can read it. This way, members
benefit from having the possibility of getting answers from many people
and they can also learn by seeing others' questions and answers.
How much do they cost?
NOTHING! This is a free service provided
by Yahoo! Groups. To finance it they
include a little text ad in every message, but they don't spam.
Subscribing
To subscribe to a forum, follow the corresponding link (see table below).
You can see you can subscribe from the web or by email. The difference is
that to subscribe from the web you need a Yahoo! ID (if you dont' have one,
you can get yours for free by simply registering as a Yahoo! user), but then
you have access to all the features offered by the web interface (message
delivery options, past messages, search, and files section), while if
you subscribe by email, your access will be limited to just sending and
receiving messages.

Use of Yahoo! Groups is
subject to their Terms
of Service.
Questions?
If you need more information about the forums, contact us, but please don't ask us
programming questions since this is what the forums are meant for.
